The idea of taking a picture of someone without their consent has become increasingly taboo in this society. Although, when in public it is actually legal to photograph someone without their consent. Most people are so accustomed to taking posed pictures, that it feels strange to see a candid photo of themselves. My goal in this project was not to intentinally take “bad” pictures of people, but rather to capture people in their candid form. It is impossible to make any commentary in photography on a posed society, only when someone can be taken out of context, and captured in their truest form, can a picture move from “artistic” to documentary.
